"GEO" Alarm clock. solidworks 3d cad. CO-DESIGNED WITH sara lindberg svenby.
In THIS PROJECT WE FOCUSED ON DIFFERENT GEOMETRIC SHAPES AND HOW THEY COULD FOLLOW THE FUNCTION OF AN ALARM CLOCK. WE ALSO SPENT TIME RESEARCHING COLORS FROM THE 1980'S.
The alarm clock is produced in ABS as the material has higher impact strength than the other candidates and is more resistant to scratches than, for example, PMMA. When manufacturing the shell, mesh grille and buttons, the injection molding technique will be used. The technique involves minimal waste material. The material thickness is set to 1 mm to maintain its impact strength and circular production. The alarm clock will be produced in Sweden. In order for the alarm clock to be easily repaired if necessary, it needs to be easy to disassemble. The "snap-lock" technique was chosen because fewer materials can be used in the production and thus links to the circular business model.
